Maar oh wee&hellip; als er een wond ontstaat dan blijkt de extra&shy;cellulaire matrix een prachtig geheel dat in actie komt. Of, zoals Ron Legerstee, wetenschappelijk gastdocent aan het Erasmus MC, in zijn drieluik van het NTVW zo mooi beschreef: &lsquo;Genezing van beschadigd weefsel (wondgenezing) verloopt volgens een vast patroon. Dat kan omdat er een samenhang bestaat tussen de cellen, de directe omgeving van de cellen (extracellulaire matrix) en de taal. De taal is de communicatie van cellen onderling met hun omgeving.&rsquo; 1,2,3<br><br>Paul Nurse, Nobelprijswinnaar en auteur van het boek &lsquo;Wat is leven&rsquo;, geeft over de cel aan: &lsquo;De cel is de simpelste vorm waarvan we kunnen zeggen dat die leeft. Cellen zijn actief; ze bewegen, kunnen reageren op de omgeving, en ook het binnenste van een cel is altijd in beweging.&rsquo; 4 En de extracellulaire matrix houdt alles geordend
